How Artkive Turns Kids Art into Beautiful Memory Books

Your five-year-old hands you a crinkled painting of a purple dog with six legs. "This is Biscuit," she says, dead serious. You smile, tell her it's wonderful, and quietly add it to the stack on the counter that's now taller than the toaster.
Sound familiar? Most parents have a version of this scene playing out at home. The artwork keeps coming, and every piece feels too special to toss but too plentiful to keep piling up. That tension between loving the art and drowning in it is exactly why Artkive exists.
Preserving Kids Art: What Artkive Does Best
Artkive is a concierge service that transforms your kids art into professionally bound memory books. We don't scan your child's work through a flatbed. Instead, our team uses high-resolution photography to capture every detail, from glitter texture to pencil shading to the lumps on a clay sculpture.
The result is a hardcover keepsake that tells the story of your child's creative growth, one page at a time.

How the Process Works
Order your art box and fill it up. We send you a pre-labeled Artkive box designed to hold kids drawings, paintings, 3D crafts, and even non-art keepsakes like report cards, jerseys, or birthday cards. Pack it all in and ship it back to us.
We photograph everything. Our team individually photographs each piece at our studio using custom-built photo stations. This captures details a scanner would miss, especially on textured, oversized, or three-dimensional children's artwork.
Images get cleaned up. Each photo is lightly enhanced to bring out color and clarity so everything looks its best in print.
Your memory book is designed. We lay out your book with your art in the order you sent it. You'll get a digital proof to review, where you can add captions, reorder pages, and make edits before we print.
We print and bind it. Your finished memory book arrives as a hardcover with high-quality matte printing. Books hold anywhere from 25 to 350 images, available in 8"x8" square or 11"x8.5" landscape formats.

Why Parents Choose Artkive
You get your space back. Years of kids artwork condensed into one or two books on the shelf instead of overflowing bins in the closet. Some parents pair this with our mosaic framed art for pieces they want on the wall.
The memories actually last. Paper fades, glitter falls off, and construction paper crumbles. A professionally printed memory book holds up for decades, and your digital backup files mean you can always reprint.
It makes sharing easy. Need a gift for grandparents? Duplicate copies of your art book are simple to order, and grandparents consistently call it the most meaningful gift they've received.
Kids love seeing their work in a "real book." One of the things we hear most from parents is how proud their children feel flipping through their own memory book. As one mom shared with us: "My kids absolutely love their book! They both love going through the old books every year and seeing how much they've progressed. I really love Artkive's 'Be your child's first publisher' concept. It makes them feel really adult and special."
You're not stuck with one layout. Our proof review process lets you customize the book before printing. You control the order, the captions, and which pieces make the final cut.
Digital files come standard. Every piece we photograph is returned to you as a high-resolution digital file. Use them to make prints, share with family, or build a digital archive you can pass down.
Why Artkive is More Than a Book
An Artkive memory book captures something that photos alone can't. It puts your child's first scribbles next to their latest masterpiece and lets you see how far they've come. Families tell us these books end up on the coffee table, get pulled out at holidays, and spark real conversations about creativity and growth.
If your fridge is full and the art bins are overflowing, this might be a good time to see how it works.
