This is nine-year-old Kayleigh - our latest young artist to be featured on the Artkive blog! She was chosen by our staff based on her a remarkable talent for utilizing watercolors and pastels to create portraits that artfully and naturalistically reflect the world around her.
Her pieces exhibit a vibrant interplay of colors and textures, reflecting a depth of technical understanding beyond her years. Her use of paint layering and shading provides a type of depth and texture that results in compositions that are both dynamic and expressive. Inanimate objects somehow come alive and draw you into the scene, while her depictions of animals seem to convey a sense of personality and soul.
